Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet with extremely low iron loss, by coating a finish-annealed grain-oriented silicon steel sheet with a specific insulating film and then, at the time of applying EB irradiation in a direction across the rolling direction of the steel sheet, grounding the steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:At the time of manufacturing a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet with extremely low iron loss, first an insulation-coating film composed principally of phosphate and colloidal silica is formed on a finish-annealed grain-oriented silicon steel sheet. Subsequently, at the time of applying EB irradiation to the above film in a direction across the rolling direction, the steel sheet is grounded. By this method, magnetic domain fractionization can be carried out by changing the insulting film, by which deterioration in iron loss characteristics can be prevented even if high-temp. stress relief annealing is applied.
