Abstract
PURPOSE:To simply and rapidly execute plugging and opening of a tuyere in a blast furnace by few workers by inserting shaped refractory beforehand forming discoid into the tip part of inner cylinder of the tuyere to plug the tuyere and breaking the shaped refractory by metal rod, etc., at the time of opening the tuyere. CONSTITUTION:In order to plug the inner cylinder 1-1 of the tuyere 1 at the time of stopping blast in the blast furnace, the shaped refractory 2 (performed brick, etc., having about 10-30mm thickness) produced in accordance with the inner diameter of the tuyere 1 is inserted into the tip part of the tuyere 1. Further, if necessary, unshaped refractory 3 may be filled up to gap between the shaped refractory 2 and the inner face of the tuyere 1. Next, at the time of opening the tuyere 1, the metal rod 6 is inserted from the opening part of peening hole cover 5 at rear part of the blowing nozzle 4, and the shaped refractory 2 plugged at the end part of the tuyere is broken by this metal rod 6. By this method, the plugging work and the opening work for the tuyere are executed for short time.
