Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce power consumption by providing a first control section for converging the low pressure side refrigerant pressure between first and second set levels, and a second control section for increasing the output frequency at a constant rate it a third set level is exceeded. CONSTITUTION: When the cooling load is low, i.e., the temperature of a matter to be cooled is 4 deg.C or below, a switching element 15 receiving an output signal from a temperature detecting section 14 connects a first control section 6 selectively with an inverter 5. Output frequency of the inverter 5 is then regulated to regulate the r.p.m. of a compressor 1 and the cooling capacity is controlled to match a load. At the time of starting operation or immediately after defrost, temperature of the matter to be cooled is higher than 0 deg.C. Consequently, the switching element 15 receiving an output signal from the temperature detecting section 14 connects a second control section 13 selectively with the inverter 5. The inverter 5 is controlled by an output signal from the second control section 13 according to the relationship between a signal from a pressure detecting section 7 and a third set pressure.
