Abstract
PURPOSE: To sufficiently cool a cold storage material without using an inverter device for high frequency operation of a compressor by using chlorofluorocarbon-502 as refrigerant medium in a refrigerating cycle for executing a cold storage operation for cooling the cold storage material in a specified time zone other than the normal cooling operation. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerant to be discharged from a compressor 17 in a refrigerating cycle is supplied to a main cooler 5 in the normal cooling operation and to a cooler 13 for cold storage in the cold storage operation for cooling a cold storage material 15 in a power surplus time zone at mid night. A thermo siphon 14 is provided between a cold storage tank 12 housing the cooler 13 for cold storage and the cold storage material 15 and the main cooler 5. A refrigerant herein used for the refrigerating cycle is chlorofluorocarbon R-502 with a cooling capacity higher than widely used chlorofluorocarbon R-12. This enables sufficient cooling of the cold storage material without high frequency operation of the compressor with an inverter device.
