Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise the performance of apparatus as well as prevent its wasteful operation by a method in which two cooling chambers are provided in parallel and as the amount of imcoming air increases under a condition that the first cooling chamber with an evaporator is frozen, compressed air is by-passed to the second cooling chamber.
CONSTITUTION: In case where the amount of incoming air as a load is normal, compressed air passes through the first cooling chamber C1 in which an evaporator 11 is incoporated, where it is cooled and dehumidified by heat exchange with the evaporator 11. But, when the first cooling chamber C1 is frozen due to the reduction of the amount of imcoming air, the incoming air is by-passed to the second cooling chamber C2 without evaporator as the amount of incoming air increases, where it is cooled and dehumidified by heat exchange with frozen moisture. Also, while dehumidification occurs in the second cooling chamber C2, defrosting takes place and also cooling and dehumidification are performed, and then refrigerator is stopped. Thus, regardless of the state of imcoming air, stable and continuous operation of dehumidifier can be always carried out and also its power consumed can be greately reduced.
