Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase mechanical strength of a ceramic molding and prevent the same from getting cracks during the manufacturing process and also from getting damaged at the time of being used in the high temperature by utilizing silica deoxide, a main component of the ceramic molding and a mixture of molten silica and quartz glass fibers. CONSTITUTION:Calcium aluminate, molten silica, titanium dioxide and quarts glass fibers of 5-40wt.% of blending ratio are blended, to which an organic bonding agent and water are added and kneaded. Said ceramic material is extruded in a honeycomb shape and molded, and then solidified, cured, dried and heat treated to manufacture a ceramic molding. Thus, a strong meshy bonding is formed in the ceramic molding and compression strength is enhanced to a large extent. Also, quarts glass fibers carry low thermal expansion rate, and the ceramic molding is never cracked when used in the high temperature.
