Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce surface electrode occupation rate and to increase light receiving area for improving photoelectric conversion efficiency by forming a plurality of recess parts on the light receiving surface of photoelectric conversion elements and by providing electrode parts along with the sidewall of the recess part. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of recess parts 10 are formed on the surface of an element 1 which becomes a light receiving surface, a P-N junction layer 2 is formed on the surface layer, and then a surface electrode 30 is provided for each sidewall 10a of recess part 10. A rear surface electrode 5 and a reflection prevention film 4 adhere to complete a solar cell. Since an electrode 30 is provided along the sidewall 10a of the recess part. the area occupied by the electrode 30 for the light receiving area of the element 1 can be reduced. Besides, a sunbeam obliquely incident upon the light receiving surface is converged.
