Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid the production of black smoke in the beginning of acceleration by simulatingly controlling the fuel injection loss correction to the operation response delay by operation of an EGR valve based on the control command value of the exhaust gas recirculation flow rate directly before stopping. CONSTITUTION:An engine control device 10 determines the control command value of fundamental fuel injection quantity and an exhaust gas recirculation flow rate based on the signals of an engine speed sensor 14 and acceleration opening sensor 12 to control a fuel injection control device 16 and EGR flow rate control device 18. The command value of the exhaust gas recirculation flow rate will be reduced in response to the increase in engine speed and becomes zero (0) in the case where the increase rate of accelerator opening exceeds the specified value. In this case, if the control command value becomes zero (0) or approximate value thereto, fuel injection quantity will be properly corrected with correction quantity for quantity reduction the arrival of determined based on the control command value directly before the control command value at the specified value until a predetermined time elapse from this point of time and the correction quantity will be reduced gradually with the lapse of time. Thus, the response delay of an EGR valve is corrected, and as a result, the production of black smoke in the acceleration can be avoided.
