PURPOSE:To eliminate restriction for the space factor of indication and increase the output from each chip by furnishing anode base boards in a shell, and arranging an IC chip for driving on the back face opposite to the fluorescent surface of the anode base boards. CONSTITUTION:In the center of a side face of a spacer 14 forming a shell 15, anode base boards 16 are installed at a certain spacing in such a way as opposite to the base plate 11. The surface of each anode base board 16 is equipped with a dot matrix display part 18, while the rear face is partially fitted with conductor wirings 19 from each display segment 17 in such a way as congested through utilization of the multi-layer wiring techniques etc., and these conductor wirings 19 are connected with the output pads 23 of the IC chip for driving 21 through connecting pins. Thus restriction for the space factor of indication is eliminated by arranging the fluorescent surface of the anode base boards and IC chip for driving in three-dimensional arrangement, and also the number of outputs from each chip can be increased.
