CONSTITUTION:If more than two sheet materials are lifted up by a sheet material absorbing sucker 11, the second sheet material 1 is absorbed by a suction port of an overlapping feed preventing device 14 so that the uppermost sheet material 1 and the second sheet material 1 are separated from each other due to the rotation of the sucker 11. Further, thus separated sheet materials are pressed by a pressing roller 9 so as to be prevented from slipping while an overlapping feed preventing pawl 21 is moved to a position where it does not make contact with the sheets 1.
