Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically attain the seek adjustment and to efficiently execute a testing work by replacing a variable resister with a D/A converter and controlling the setting action with a microprocessor. CONSTITUTION:Respective types of a seek instruction are given from a microprocessor 5 through an interface circuit 7 to a magnetic disk device control part 3 and various seek actions are executed to a tested disk device 1. When the device 1 executes the seek action, a position signal is outputted from the control part 3 and the overshooting, an undershooting, an access time, etc., of the position signal are detected by a detecting circuit 4. The microprocessor 5, after D/A converters 61-65 are adjusted so that the seek adjustment can be optimum, based on the detecting value by the detecting circuit 4 in accordance with the built-in program, executes the seek action again and confirms the condition of the position signal. After this is repeated and the servo system of the control part 3 is automatically adjusted and the testing is executed.
