Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute good recording and reproducing without having the undesirable influence by electromagnetic noises from the outside by forming an electromagnetic shielding layer having a high electrical conductivity material to the upper part of an upper magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:After a lower magnetic layer 2 consisting of 'SENDUST(R)' is formed atop the tape-sliding surface side of a substrate 1 consisting of ferrite, etc., and having a prescribed shape, a 1st insulating layer consisting of SiO2 is deposited by evaporation thereon and Cu for constituting coils is deposited by evaporation on said layer and is etched; further, the 2nd insulating layer consisting of SiO2 is deposited by evaporation thereon and is etched. Cu for constituting coils is then deposited by evaporation thereon and is etched to form spiral conductor coil layers 4, 4. Conductor patterns 12 consisting of Cu are formed atop the substrate 1 on the side opposite from the tape-sliding surface thereof by vapor deposition and etching and the 3rd insulating layer 5 covering the coil layer 4 is formed.
