Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the lifetime of a bearing or a supporting shaft by a method wherein a force applied to an impeller in the axial direction by the flow of a fluid is canceled by the mutual magnetic forces of magnets. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 7 fitted to an impeller 1 and a magnet 10 fitted to a supporting member 5 are disposed so that they are opposite to each other at the same poles with a prescribed gap between them. By this constitution, a force applied to the impeller 1 in the axial direction by the flow of a fluid is canceled by the mutual magnetic forces of the magnets 7 and 10. Thereby it is avoided that metal surfaces are made to contact directly with each other by the force in the axial direction, and thus the lifetime of bearings 8 and 7 or a supporting shaft 3 is improved.
