Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of a pump for feeding low temperature fluid, by forming a drive motor and a beating from superconductive materials, and by forming a passage for cooling the motor and bearings with the use of fed liquid so as to reduce bearing loss and thermal loss. CONSTITUTION:A casing 1 is formed therein with inlet and outlet ports 2, 3 for liquid to be fed, and a gas vent hole 13. A pump device is disposed in the casing 1. In this arrangement, an inducer 5 and an impeller 6 fitted on a shaft 4 in the casing 1 are rotated by a superconduictive motor 16 fitted to the same shaft 4 within a motor housing 11. Further, the shaft 4 is supported by superconductive radial bearings 15 which are disposed in the upper and lower parts of the supercoductive motor 16, and a superconductive thrust bearing 14 which is provided at the upper end of the shaft 4. Further, the motor 16 and the bearings are cooled by liquid to be fed which is led outside thereof.
