Abstract

PURPOSE:To check the occurrence of a leak due to corrosion by performing URANAMI welding of joining parts of a smoke pipe to pipe plates from the gas side to eliminate an unfused part of said joining parts. CONSTITUTION:The upper pipe plate 1, the lower pipe plate 2 projected to the water side and the smoke pipe 3 are sunk deep by prescribed dimensions from the gas side surfaces of the upper and lower pipe plates 1 and 2 and the projected parts of the pipe plates are covered by copper straps 15 from the water side. Then, the joining parts of the upper and lower pipe plates 1 and 2 to the smoke pipe 3 are subjected to the URANAMI welding from the gas side by the TIG welding method under prescribed welding conditions. The upper and lower pipe plates 1 and 2 and the smoke pipe 3 tip are fused by welded zones obtained by this constitution. Accordingly, gaps of the joint joining parts are eliminated and an oxygen concentration cell by hot-water residence, chlorine concentration in hot water, etc., are reduced and an effect to improve corrosion environment is attained. Moreover, the effect to reduce the deterioration of corrosion resistance of the material surface by welding heat with respect to the water side joining parts is attained by circulating back shielding gas through the copper straps 15 at the time of welding.
