Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate setting of a chiller and to simplify treatment of the chiller after casting by fixing the chillers abutted on a part corresponding to a cam of foaming styrene-made pattern to a flask forming a casting device through a supporting arm. CONSTITUTION:The casting device 10 is constituted of half flask bodies 12, 13 forming the box type flask 11 by mutually matching together with each other, a funnel 14 for pouring molten metal into the flask 11 and a supporting part 16 for supporting the foaming styrene-made pattern 15 for forming to the chill cam shaft shape in the flask 11. In the inner faces of the half flask bodies 12, 13, the plural chillers 18 are fixed through the chiller supporting arms 19, respectively under corresponding condition to the part 17 corresponding to the cam of the chill cam shaft. Under setting pattern 15 by this condition, the half flask bodies 12, 13 are matched together with each other to form the box type flask 11, and non-caking sand 20 is charged into the flask 11 to pack in each gap. Next, the molten metal is poured through the funnel 14 and the pattern 15 is replaced to molten metal and the surface of the part corresponding to the cam brought into contact with the chiller 18 is made to chill structure and the casting is taken out from the flask 11 at good timing.
