Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve manufacturing efficiency of superconducting wire material by passing a core material through a liquid in which powder to be supeconductor is dispersed, making the powder adhere to the core material, pre-heating it to remove liquid agent, and repeating the above processes for several times to perform heat treatment and annealing treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid 7 in which material powder to be superconductor is dispersed is held in a tub 5 through which a core material 1 is continuously passed. The thickness of the liquid 7 adhering to the surface of the core material 1 is made constant with a squeezing die 8 arranged at an outlet of the tub 5 and the core material 1 is drawn out. The liquid 7 adhering to the core material 1 is then heated in a preheating chamber 10 to remove solvent, viscosity increasing agent, additive, etc., by evaporation and decomposition. The material powder is then made into superconductor in a baking chamber 11. The above processes are repeated as required for several times. The chemical composition of the material is adjusted in an annealing chamber 12. With this constitution, manufacturing efficiency of the superconducting wire material is improved to reduce cost.
