Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled formed article composed of a single foamed layer, by transferring polytetrafluoroethylene powder dispersed in a non-wetting liquid into a liquid lubricant, removing the non-wetting liquid and forming and heating the remaining mixture. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. of polytetrafluroethylene powder is dispersed in (B) 1,000-10,000pts.wt. of a non-wetting liquid (e.g. methanol or ethanol) and stirred with a mixer, etc., to attain particle diameter of <=10mum, preferably 0.04-0.2mum. The dispersion is added with (C) 400-600pts.wt. of a liquid lubricant (preferably polychlorotrifluoroethylene) to transfer the powder to the liquid lubricant and the most part of the component B is removed. The obtained mixture composed of the component A, the component C and a small amount of the component B is formed and the formed article is heated at a temperature above the boiling points of the components B and C to remove the components B and C and obtain the objective foamed article.
