Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Nicotinoyl-amino-phenylacetonitrile shown by formula I. USE:A plant blight controller showing excellent effects especially on downy mildew and plant blights such as late blight caused by Phycomycetes. PREPARATION:Nicotinic acid chloride hydrochloride shown by formula II is reacted with phenylglycinonitrile hydrochloride shown by formula III in the presence of a base (e.g. triethylamine) in a solvent such as THF at -30-50 deg.C for 30min-24hr, preferably at 0 deg.C- room temperature for 1-8hr to give a compound shown by formula I. 0.1-99.9%, preferably 1-90% of the compound is pharmaceutically manufactured as an active ingredient by a conventional procedure.
