Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a compound metallic oxide powder with hardly any residual organic substances, by bringing a specific organic solvent composition containing water into contact with a compound capable of producing nascent oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A rare earth element alkoxide (e.g. yttrium triisopropoxide) is blended with an alkaline earth metal alkoxide (e.g. barium diethoxide), an organic acid salt, alkoxide, beta-diketone complex or beta-keto ester complex of copper (e.g. copper diethoxide) so as to provide the same stoichiometric relation in terms of the composition and metals of the aimed metallic compound oxide. The resultant blend is then dissolved in an organic solvent containing water to afford an organic solvent composition. A compound (e.g. H2O2) capable of producing nascent oxygen is added to the above-mentioned composition to form precipitates, which are subsequently filtered off, dried at 100-120 deg.C and then heated at 400-600 deg.C.
