Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a compound metal oxide having high purity and compsn. corresponding to a target compsn. by heating a hydrous org. solvent contg. a mixture consisting of an alkoxide of a rare earth metal, an alkoxide of an alkaline earth metal, an org. acid salt of copper, a beta-diketone complex, etc., and irradiating the reaction product with ultraviolet rays and infrared rays. CONSTITUTION:A hydrous org. solvent contg. an alkoxide of a rare earth metal (e.g. a compd. expressed by formula I, II, etc.), an alkoxide of an alkaline earth metal (e.g. a compd. expressed by formula III, IV, etc.), an org. acid salt of copper, an alkoxide of copper, a beta-diketone complex or a beta-ketoester complex (e.g. a compd. expressed by formula V, VI, etc.) in a proportion corresponding to a proportion of metal in a target compound metal oxide. The hydrous mixture is heated under reflux, and the reaction product is irradiated with ultraviolet rays and infrared rays. Thus, a compound metal oxide having high purity and a compsn. closely equal to the target compsn. and being useful for a superconducting material or magnetic sensor is obtd. without performing heat- treatment at high temp.
