Abstract

PURPOSE: To design the realization of a superconducting magnet having a high critical temperature by making a thin film with one of the materials of diamond, boron nitride, sapphire, zirconia, and tungsten carbide and forming on it a superconducting film of oxide.
CONSTITUTION: On a copper tape 1 of a thickness 10μm and a width 10mm is formed a diamond film 2 of a thickness 10μm by means of plasma CVD process, etc. Further on it is formed a film of oxide superconductor of a thickness 100μm by means of sputter process, etc. Further depositing about 1μm thickness of insulation film of SiO2 or the like, a flexible multi-layer tape is made. This tape is used as a conductor coil of a superconducting magnet. Applying current below a critical temperature, magnetic field of 50tesla or more can be generated. Since the stress occurring in the longitudinal direction of the tape is below the strength of the diamond film even if the magnetic field exceeds 100tesla, the magnet is not destroyed.
