PURPOSE:To obtain a polymer having high crystallinity and good particle form, by polymerizing an alpha-olefin in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a combination of a TiCl3 composition obtained by reducing TiCl4, an organic Al compound and an organic Si compound. CONSTITUTION:An alpha-olefin is polymerized in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a combination of (A) a TiCl3 composition produced by reducing TiCl4 with an organic Al compound (e.g. trimethylaluminum or ethylaluminum dichloride) or a reaction product of said organic Al compound with an electron donor (e.g. diethyl ether or methyl methacrylate), (B) an organic Al compound and (C) an organic Si compound having Si-O-CO bond (e.g. tetraacetoxysilane or trimethylsilyl benzoate).
