Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the track pitch density, by providing a step in the transverse direction of a on a magnetic pole at both sides clipping a gap of a magnetic core so as to reduce crosstalk. CONSTITUTION:A step is provided in the transverse direction of the core on magnetic poles 21, 22 clipping the gap 23 of a core 20. That is, the width W2 of the magnetic pole 22 is made smaller than the width W1 of the magnetic pole 21 to form a step. The range S of leakage of magnetic flux in the core broadwise direction is reduced at the recording by the core 20 and the leaked magnetic flux from the core side is tilted as shown by the arrow. Thus, the adjacent track is difficult to pick up the leaked magnetic flux at recording and the core picks up the information of the adjacent track obliquely at reproduction and the picked-up quantity is less, then crosstalk is reduced and the track pitch density is improved.
