Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the efficiency of a character string input by scanning and inputting a bar code corresponding to a desired character among plural characters printed at a sheet with a bar code scanner when the character string of one character or above are inputted. CONSTITUTION:A bar code 1b corresponding concerning the character of a character 1a to be inputted is printed adjoining to respective characters. When the character shown here is is inputted, the desired character 1a is selected from plural characters printed onto a sheet 1, and scanned by a bar code scanner 2 on the bar code 1b corresponding to the desired character. The bar code scanner 2 outputs an electric signal corresponding to the scanned bar code to an encoding circuit 3 and the encoding circuit 3 encodes the received electric signal to the code shown in the character information. A converting circuit 4 converts the encoded character information to a KANJI (Chinese character) mixed sentence, sends it to a sentence output circuit 5 and the sentence output circuit 5 displays the KANJI mixed sentence. Thus, by the simple operation without needing the skill, the character can be inputted.
