Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compsn. consisting of specified percentages of SiO2, Aacute angle2O3, CaO, BaO, MgO+SrO, B2O3 and F+SO3+As2O5+Sb2O5+V2O5, suitable for the glazing of an alumina substrate, giving a hardly curved glaze layer and having superior heat resistance, smoothness and chemical durability. CONSTITUTION:Starting materials are mixed so as to obtain a desired compsn. and the mixture is melted by heating at 1,450-1,550 deg.C for 2-4hr with stirring. The resulting molten glass is water-granulated or flaked and pulverized to obtain a glass compsn. consisting of, by weight, 47.5-54.5% SiO2, 5.5-13.5% Al2O3, 5.0-20.0% CaO, 5.0-25.0% BaO, 0-10.0% MgO+SrO, 0-0.9% B2O3 and 0.01-3.5% F+SO3+As2O5+Sb2O5+V2O5.
