Abstract

PURPOSE:To determine whether the time is reset or continued by previously storing the time of the moment of a service interruption and judging whether the difference between the time of a timepiece to be indicated at the time of resetting and the time at the start of the service interruption is larger than or smaller than the specified time when the timepiece can be kept moved by a secondary battery. CONSTITUTION:A fall detecting part 7 detects the tendency to dropping of a voltage at the moment when the service interruption arises. The detecting part generates a trigger pulse and transmits the same to a memory device 8 before the voltage drops completely. The device 8 stores the time of a counting part 2. A rise detecting part 9 generates a trigger pulses by detecting the tendency to rising of the voltage and transmits the same to a judging part 10 when the service interruption is reset. The judging part 10 reads the time at the resetting of the service interruption and the time at the moment of the service interruption and compares whether the time difference between both and the predetermined specified time T are large or small. The judging part stops the timepiece by emitting a reset pulse and warns the stop to a user when the time difference is larger than the time T. The judging part does not generate the reset pulse by judging that an oscillating part 1 and the count part 2 are kept operated when said difference is small.
