Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect a momentary power failure securely by counting the output state of a pulse generation part, which generates a pulse signal synchronizing with a commercial power source, by a timer part and by comparing the count value with the set value of a storage part. CONSTITUTION:A pulse generation part 1 generates a pulse which goes up to a high level approximately at a zero phase point of a commercial power source, and a timer part 2 clocks the time when the pulse output is held high, and is reset when the output is at a low level. The clocking output of the timer part 2 is inputted to a comparison part 3 to be compared with the output value of a storage part 4. If a momentary power failure occurs, a counter in the timer part 2 continues to count without being reset during the period of the momentary power failure. Consequently, the comparison part 3 is informed that the timer part 2 counts up to a prescribed value or more, and the comparison part 3 outputs a detection signal for the power failure. Thus, the control circuit of a microcomputer continues operation without stopping the operation regardless of the momentary power failure.
