On the other hand, as a timer 6 is given a timer limit tau4 (>tau3), a signal 6a remains high up to a time t4 while a signal 6b remains low. Therefore, the time constant of the counter 7 is set at a low value. At a time t4, the signal 6a moves to a low level and the signal 6b to a high level so that the time constant of the counter 7 is switched to a high value, namely, an intrinsic one. Thus, the counting rate meter can arrive at a constant state in an extremely short time (t4-t1) after the stoppage of the power supply.
