Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the quantity of the antigen or antibody in a sample by detecting the difference between a 1st semiconductor ion sensor immobilized with the antigen or antibody in a hydrophilic film and a 2nd semiconductor ion sensor provided only with the hydrophilic film. CONSTITUTION:The enzyme immune sensor 11 having the hydrophilic film immobilized with the antibody or antigen reacting specifically with the antigen or antibody to be measured is immersed in a sample 12 contg. said antigen or antibody to effect an antigen-antibody reaction. This sensor 11 is then immersed in a soln. 13 contg. the antibody or antigen labeled with enzyme to effect the antigen-antibody reaction. The sensor is then immersed in a soln. 14 contg. the substrate to be decomposed or oxidized by the above-mentioned labeling enzyme. The change in the concn. of the ions in the hydrophilic film 7 of the sensor generated by the enzyme reaction of the substrate is measured by the differential output between the semiconductor ion sensor A formed with an antibody immobilized region 8 and the semiconductor ion sensor B provided with only the hydrophilic film 7. The quantity of the antigen or antibody in the sample is measured in accordance with the measured value thereof.
