Abstract

A polymer of the antibodies of a specific isoenzyme (esp. the placenta, liver or Regan isoenzyme of alkaline phosphatase) is prepd. by reacting the antibodies with a coupler (pref. ethyl chloroformate) capable of promoting the formation of amide bonds between COOH and NH2 gp. pref. at pH 2.2-8.5. The polymer can be used for analysing liq. specimens (esp. serum) for the specific isoenzymes in question by adding the polymer to the specimen to react immunochemically with the isoenzyme and sepg. the ppted. isoenzyme-antibody polymer complex, the isoenzyme activity being determined by standard enzymatics analysis on (a) the liq. specimen before and after the immunochemical reaction or (b) the ppted complex.
