Abstract
PURPOSE:To grinding-work a workpiece efficiently by controlling the cutting-in quantity of a tool so that the driving electric current of a motor for revolving a grinding wheel becomes a set value and repeating the reversal of the shift direction for the direction of axis line of the tool. CONSTITUTION:The driving electric current of a motor 24 for revolving a grind stone is detected by an electric current detecting circuit 26. A rotary grinding wheel 12 is cut-in in the radial direction of a press roller 2 by a calculation processing unit 38 until the detected driving electric current reaches a set value. Then, grinding work is carried out, shifting the rotary wheel 12 in the direction of the axis line of the press roller 2. In this case, if the driving electric current value becomes less than the set electric current value, the rotary wheel 12 is cut-in in the radial direction of the press roller 2 until the driving electric current value reaches the set value. Further, the direction of shift in the direc tion of axis line of the rotary wheel 12 is reversed, and grinding work is carried out to the collar (edge part) of the press roller 2 and the part where abrasion is less on the press roller 2 can be automatically grinding-worked efficiently.
