Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to constantly maintain a uniform pitch between tube elements by providing a junction having recessed parts and protruded parts alternatingly along the periphery of molded plates on an opposite tank side and by butting the opposite tank side of the adjacent tube elements against the junction. CONSTITUTION:A tube element 1 is formed by joining two molded plates 3, 3 at their peripheries. Before a heat exchanger is assembled, the molded plates and the like are clad with a brazing material, and end plates 10, outlet and inlet joints 11a, 11b, the molded plates 3 and fins 2 are laminated together. As for the molded plates 3 mutually constituting other tube elements, their tank side is butted against swollen portions 6a, 6b for forming a tank, and their opposite tank side against a junction 15. In this instance, the fins 2 are interposed between the molded plates 3 to be made into one body, and a plurality of them are laminated to be assembled. Thereupon, they are fixed with a jig and put into a furnace to be brazed. Accordingly, even when compressive load is imparted in the laminated direction during the brazing operation, a uniform pitch can be maintained between the tube elements.
