Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the molten slag from being overcooled so as to smoothly discharge the same by forming a detour passage means for cooling water from the cooling water inlet in the upper position of the furnace bottom, and forming the cooling water outlet in the side wall above the cooling water inlet. CONSTITUTION:Cooling water 4 taken in from the cooling water inlet 5 fills the hollow furnace bottom 2 and the side wall space 3 above the former, and, after cooling these parts and being heated thereby, is discharged from the cooling water outlet 7. Because the cooling water 4 so taken in flows toward the slag discharge side 1 via a detour passage means 6, it is heated as it flows in the detour passage means 6 before reaching the slag discharge side 1. Since the cooling water 4 is supplied to the slag discharge side 1 after its temperature has risen to a certain degree, the slag discharge side 1 is not cooled more than necessary, and risks can be prevented, where the molten slag cannot be discharged from the slag outlet 1. The detour passage means 6 consists of a cooling water pipe 8 laid along the inner circumference of the furnace bottom 2 from the cooling water inlet 5 to the slag outlet side 1.
