CONSTITUTION:Cooling water 4 taken in from the cooling water inlet 5 fills the hollow furnace bottom 2 and the side wall space 3 above the former, and, after cooling these parts and being heated thereby, is discharged from the cooling water outlet 7. Because the cooling water 4 so taken in flows toward the slag discharge side 1 via a detour passage means 6, it is heated as it flows in the detour passage means 6 before reaching the slag discharge side 1.
