Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a corrosion-resisting sintered hard alloy containing WC as principal hard dispersed phase and Co as binding phase and excellent in strength and corrosion resistance, by using superfine-grained Co material powder of a specific grain size in a powder metallurgical method. CONSTITUTION:A hard alloy containing WC as principal hard dispersed phase and Co as binding phase is manufactured by a powder metallurgical method. In the above manufacturing process, a superfine-grained powder of <=500nm average grain size is used as powdery Co material. By this method, the amount of solid-solution W in Co is increased without precipitating lower double carbides such as W3Co3C, by which the corrosion-resisting sintered hard alloy holding high deflective strength and remarkably improved in corrosion resistance can be obtained.
