Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate a production and to reduce the production cost by subjecting a flanged shaft member to warm forging by upsetting a billet and executing punching by utilizing the excess heat thereof. CONSTITUTION:A billet 1 is prepd. and preheated as well by a lubrication heating device interlocked with a press machine. The obtd. billet 2 is fed to a press machine and pre-upsetting is executed with the front and back parts extrusion. A flanged shaft member 4 is then formed by upsetting, thereafter, punched shaving is executed by utilizing the excess heat of a material. In this case, no reheating is necessary and the necessary flanged shaft part 5 is obtd. while preventing the generation of a rupture face. Since the product having no rupture face is obtd. by utilizing the excess heat after forming the flanged shaft member 4 from the billet 1, the production of a product is simplified and yet facilitated. Moreover the production cost is reduced with the man-hour curtailment and miniaturization of equipment.
