Abstract
PURPOSE:To stably carry out operation by providing a vent pipeline leading to the upper part of a furnace casing, furnishing a control valve to the pipeline, and further providing temp. and pressure detecting means in a protective cover. CONSTITUTION:Molten slag is dropped into a cooling water tank 10 from a tap hole 2 through a space in the protective cover 3, and the gas in the furnace is simultaneously injected into the space in the protective cover 3 from the tap hole 2. The injected gas is returned to the upper part of the furnace casing 4 through the vent pipeline 5 provided with the control valve 6. The opening of the control valve 6 is adjusted so that the amt. of the air supplied from a tuyere 11 and supplied to the upper part of the furnace casing 4 is maximized to increase the combustion quantity, and also adjusted to minimize the amt. of the gas to be injected. The furnace temp. decreases as the amt. of the air supplied from the tuyere 11 decreases, and the tapping amt. is also decreased. When the tapping amt. becomes lower than a set value, the opening of the control valve 6 is adjusted by a control means 9, and the amt. is controlled.
