Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and to reduce the size by employing a set of single and double pinion planetary gear mechanisms and employing a single layer coupling shaft structure. CONSTITUTION:When an input shaft 12 is coupled with a ring gear 4 in a single pinion planetary gear mechanism and a ring gear 8 in a double pinion planetary gear mechanism is fixed, drive 1-speed is achieved. When the input shaft 12 is coupled with the ring gear 4 and sun gears 3, 7 are fixed, drive 2-speed is achieved. When the input shaft 12 is coupled with any two of the sun gears 3, 7 and the ring gears 4, 8, respective planetary gear mechanisms 1, 2 rotate integrally to realize drive 3-speed. When the input shaft 12 is coupled with the ring gear 8 and the sun gears 3, 7 are fixed, drive 4-speed is realized. When the sun gears 3, 7 are coupled with the input shaft 12 and the ring gear 8 is fixed, reverse stage is realized.
