Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce radial size by sharing ring gears in respective planetary gear mechanisms while sharing the outer circumferential side planet pinion in a double pinion planetary gear mechanism and the planetary pinion in a single pinion planetary gear mechanism. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 9 is coupled with sun gear 3 in a single pinion planetary gear mechanism 1 and a shared ring gear 4 is fixed to achieve drive 1-speed. The input shaft 9 is coupled with the sun gear 3 and the sun gear 6 in a double pinion planetary gear mechanism 2 is fixed to achieve drive 2-speed. When the sun gear 3 and the ring gear 4 are coupled with the input shaft 9, drive 3-speed having speed change ratio of 1 can be achieved. When the ring gear 4 is coupled with the input shaft 9 and the sun gear 6 is fixed, drive 4-speed can be achieved. When the sun gear 6 is coupled with the input shaft 9 and the ring gear 4 is fixed, reverse stage is realized. Consequently, an output gear having smaller diameter than that of the ring gear 4 can be employed easily.
