Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify construction and to make the fourth forward speed adaptable to oberdrive by such arrangement that speed change stages consisting of four forward stages and one backward stage can be obtained by only using two sets of planetary gears and one set of speed change gears.
CONSTITUTION: A transmission gear 6 is integrally fixed on an input shaft 3 connected with a torque converter 2, and a speed change gear 8 is arranged through a clutch gear C3 for obtaining an overdrive stage. Two clutches C1 and C2, two brake gears B1 and B2, two sets of planetary gears Y1 and Y2, one transmission gear 9, and a speed change gear 10 are concentrically arranged on an output shaft 5 disposed in parallel with the input shaft 3. Carriers 14 and 18 of the planetary gears Y1 and Y2 are connected with the output shaft 5, and gear ratios of one backward stage and four forward stages including an overdrive stage can be obtained by selective operations of the clutche gears C1WC3 and the brake gears B1 and B2.
