Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance based on the compositeness of the material, to prolong the service life of a tooth, and to maintain the high drilling performance for a long period by making the part necessitating wear resistance from the tooth edge to a working limit rich in a wear-resistant material. CONSTITUTION:A puckered or grooved seat for fixing the wear-resistant composite material 2 is provided on the inner side wall of the casting mold (not shown in the figure) of a drilling tooth main body 1, the material 2 is placed in the casting mold and supported by the fixing seat, then molten steel is injected to melt the material 2, and the material 2 is dispersed or diffused by the flow of molten steel. As a result, only the part of the tooth edge necessitating wear resistance is made rich in the material 2, and the composite material for a drilling tooth is produced. The wear resistance can be improved by the compositeness of the material. A wear-resistant high-alloy steel or a low-m.p. self-fluxing alloy is selected as the material 2, and further cemented carbide powder or wear-resistant ceramic powder 4 is preferably applied on the material 2.
