Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable measurement of corrosion capacity, by a method wherein a reference resistor and a resistor to be measured are formed into the same shape from a sheet metal the same in material and a sensor having a clad layer provided on the reference resistor is exposed to a corrosive environment to determine changes in the resistance value of the resistor being measured. CONSTITUTION:A sensor S1 has a reference resistor Rs made of a sheet metal and a resistor Rm to be measured made of a sheet metal the same in the material and the shape as the resistor Rs stuck on an insulation support 1 close to each other. A clad layer 2 is formed on the reference resistor Rs while one pane of the resistor Rm being measured is not subjected to a clad processing, hence being exposed 3. The sensor S1 is mounted on the inner surface of a wheel house 8 of a vehicle 7 to be used for a corrosion test. The reference resistor Rs thus covered with the clad layer 2 will not be corroded while the resistor Rm being measured is corroded with time to cause rust as the exposed surface 3 thereof is exposed in a corrosive environment. Thus, a resistance value of the resistor Rm being measured is measured with a measuring device M employing a Wheatstone bridge system, thereby enabling the learning of corrosion capacity.
