Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a resin for a lens which is lightweight and has a high refractive index and excellent processability, by reacting a specified aromatic or aliphatic polythiol with a specified polyisocyanate. CONSTITUTION:A resin is obtained by reacting a polythiol of formula I and/or II with a polyisocyanate of formula III. In formula I, R is Cl, Br, methyl or ethyl, X is O or S, m is 0 or 1, n is 0-2, p is 2-4, and q is 0-4. In formula II, R is methyl, ethyl, chloromethyl or bromomethyl, m is 0-2, and n is 4-m. In formula III, R is Cl, Br, methyl or the like, X is O or S, C, methyl or the like, m is 0-4, n is 1-4, p is 0-4, q is 0-4, r is 0-4, y is 0-3, and z is 0-3.
