Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the roll changing efficiency by installing a roll changing carriage and a chock mounting and demounting carriage on the side of a rolling mill, also installing 1st and 2nd push-pullers respectively, and sequentially moving respective carriages. CONSTITUTION:A couple of rails 14, 16 are put in the side of a rolling mill 100 and a roll changing carriage 1 and a chock mounting and demounting carriage 12 are installed, respectively. A 1st push-puller 10 and a 2nd push-puller 18 are put on the carriage 1 and a push-puller supporting carriage 19, respectively. The carriage 1 is moved to the side of the mill 100 to pull out an old roll 7 including chocks 6a, 6b and the roll 7 is crossly moved by a side shift frame 9. Then, a new roll 4 including chocks 3a, 3b is assembled into the mill 100 through the push-puller 10. The push-puller 18 receives the old roll 7 together with the carriage 1. The roll changing efficiency is improved because mounting and demounting of chock are automated.
