Abstract
PURPOSE:To attach and detach roll chocks simultaneously without damaging bearings by providing supporting blocks which support upper, lower rolls with roll faces and supporting blocks which support upper, lower roll chocks discretely by means of air bearings. CONSTITUTION:Upper, lower rolls 10, 11 are supported by a roll supporting block 3 at roll faces 10F, 11F. A roll chock attaching and detaching carriage 2 consists of upper, lower roll chock supporting blocks 30, 31, and is movable in parallel in the roll axial center direction on a rail 1. The upper roll chock supporting block 30 of a U shape supports upper roll chocks 12 perpendicularly by means of a floor surface 50 with air bearings 32, and the lower roll chock supporting block 31 penetrating through the vertical hole 24 pierced in the bottom part of said block 30 supports lower roll chocks 13 by means of the floor surface 50 with air bearings 33 perpendicularly. It is also possible to place the lower chock supporting block with air bearings on the bottom part of the upper chock supporting block of a U shape not provided with any vertical hole.
