Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely prevent gas leakage by fitting an L-shaped fluorinated resin film in tour corners of an electrode substrate and wrapping this film with a U-shaped film, then heat-bonding both films. CONSTITUTION:A U-shaped fluorinated resin film 10 is fitted to the side end parallel to reaction gas supply grooves 5a of a porous electrode substrate 5, and longitudinal both ends of the film 10 are folded up at the end, where the grooves 5a are opened, of the substrate 5 and heat-bonded to form seal structure. In this seal structure, hot-melt adhesive L-shaped fluorinated resin films 11 are fitted to four corners of the substrate 5, and the film 11 is wrapped with the film 10, then both films are heat-bonded. The airtightness in four corners, in contact with manifolds, of the electrode substrate 5 is increased and highly reliable seal structure is obtained.
