Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the title degreased Al alloy sheet for coating capable of exhibiting excellent filiform corrosion resistance after coating by controlling the amt. of a silicate remaining on the surface of an alkali-degreased Al alloy sheet for coating to lower than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy sheet for coating is degreased with an alkaline processing soln. not substantially contg. a silicate. A processing soln. contg. about 1-3% of >=1 kind among sodium phosphate, sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, sodium sulfate, and sodium sesquisulfate is preferably used as the processing soln., and the pH is preferably controlled to >=8. By this method, the amt. of the silicate remaining on the surface of the treated Al alloy sheet can be reduced to <=50mg/m<2>, expressed in terms of SiO2. Chemical conversion treatment and electrodeposition are applied to the degreased Al alloy sheet, and a coated sheet having excellent filiform corrosion resistance is obtained.
