Abstract

PURPOSE:To directly input a word common in a spelling consisting of alphabetic characters by designating the range of an alphabetic character string including a part which is not converted as the alphabetic character and converting the alphabetic character of a designated area to a KANA (Japanese syllabary) with a reference to an alphabetic word KANA converting dictionary when there is the alphabetic character or the alphabetic character string which is not converted to a Roman character in the alphabetic character string inputted by an alphabetic character key. CONSTITUTION:The alphabetic character string inputted by the alphabetic character key is treated as the Roman character and converted to the KANA by a Roman character/KANA converting means 2. In this case, the character string inputted in the spelling consisting of the alphabetic characters, when it is adapted to a conversion collating table 7, is converted to the KANA, but it when it is not adapted to the table 7, it is not converted.
