Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize the total amount of use of opticalfiber cables and to facilitate its extension by building up a bus system network by two main optical fiber cables only and installing a T-coupler to an optional location. CONSTITUTION:A data packet signal 10 outputted from a data terminal equipment 5c is converted into an optical signal by a communication controller 4c. The optical signal sent from the communication controller 4c is given to T- couplers 21c, 22c via optical fiber cables 3c-1, 3c-2 after no optical signal exists in optical fiber cables 1a, 1b. The optical signal given to the cable 3c-1 is sent toward the terminal A through the optical fiber cable 1a via the T-coupler 21c. Then the signal is branched in the T-couplers 21b, 21a sequentially and reaches communication controllers 4b, 4a. Moreover, the optical signal outputted to the cable 3c-2 is sent toward the terminal B through the optical fiber cable 16 via the T-coupler 22c, branched in the T-coupler 21n and reaches a communication controller 4n.
