Abstract

PURPOSE:To considerably shorten the set-up time of a system by generating a ready signal from a slave processor in each stage of its own program and discriminating time-out in said each stage by a master processor. CONSTITUTION:A bus 3 is provided between two processing units 1 and 2 each of which incorporates a processor and an initial diagnostic program, and one processing unit 1 is used as the master unit and the other processing unit 2 is used as the slave unit, and polling from the master side to the slave side and report of the ready signal from the slave side to the master side are performed. In this case, the slave processing unit 2 generates the ready signal in each stage of its own program, and the master processing unit 1 discriminates time-out in said each stage. Thus, the monitoring time is divided into plural zones and the time-out discrimination time on the master side for the occurrence of trouble on the slave side is shortened to considerably shorten the set-up time of the system.
